My Favorite Games

There are a lot of games I like to play, and I have a decent amount. Obviously I’m obsessed with dungeons and dragons, but I am into other stuff too. For other board games, I love playing a variety of card games from Texas holdem to rummy, I dominate in monopoly, play battleship, Jenga, etc. But what I can rave about is video games. Yes, I play modern games like Baldur’s Gate III, Pokemon Violet, Super Smash brothers, Asphalt 9 Legends, Halo Infinite, Crossout, Destiny, Warframe, Warface, Fortnite, well, not anymore. I gave up on Fortnite a while ago. I only came back for the OG season and that’s it. Truly do not care about the chapters after the first though. I gave them a shot and they did keep me hooked for a while but I personally think it peaked in chapter 1. Anyways, Overwatch, Hogwarts Legacy, Dauntless, Lethal company, Bloons Tower Defense, Team Fortress 2, Minecraft, Sea of theives, Valorant, definitely more I’m forgetting to mention(you’re welcome).

But, some of my favorite games are the great ones my dad used to play. Now, some games I mentioned already do date back a while, like destiny from 2014, or Team fortress 2 from 2007. But I mean the big franchise classics like both portal games ( which I have beaten portal 2 within literally 8 hours while doing a regular playthrough), or the original Mario games. One game I’ve always wanted to play is Fallout 4. I know there are very big time jumps between these games, Mario being released in 1985 and the other games coming from between 2007 to 2015, so I think I should start relatively near the beginning, my memory isn’t great. The earliest and first games I can remember playing are the first Mario Bros. game, Pac-Man, Centipede, Donkey Kong like once( I know I tried it), Frogger, Duck Hunt, and this one Scooby-Doo video game that had a motorized bike and how fast you peddled helped keep you from crashing in game. I don’t know exactly, the game is kind of a blur. It was a good way to trick infants into exercise that’s for sure. These and a very few tablet games I remember playing like Minecraft is what I grew up with.

Going on a quick tangent about Minecraft, now I’m most likely remembering this incorrectly but I swear I remember downloading Minecraft pocket edition for free, not paying any money at all. I’m most likely wrong and just didn’t pay attention but that’s what I remember. And that the picture is what the game used to look like. I used tnt a lot. And, as I was falling out of these games the movie Pixels released which really sealed my love for Donkey Kong and Galaga. The old games are by far my favorite games and Pixels really influenced me to try the other games on the Atari. I miss these games dearly and I hope they are revived.

On My Way to My Goals

I’m only in high school so I still have a bit to go before I get there. I mainly need to think about how I’m going to get there. Now that I’m taking art classes I’m actually getting professional teachings. Everyone I know says they can tell I’ve improved. But, I still need to develop a portfolio. I plan to go to the best University in my area, UF. To do that I’m going to need a lot. Like straight A’s forever and 2 language classes. Not only that though, you need different requirements to get into the different colleges at the university. Because I want to take a specific Bachler in the College of Fine Arts I will, on top of the UF requirements, still need all A’s and a fully filled portfolio with sufficient art that shows what drawing techniques I’ve learned and they are good quality. It is a little overwhelming, but everyone has told me I have the skills and dedication. Every adult I’ve talked to before I came into 9th grade has told me your grades during the freshman year is the most important so I think I’m off to a great start. I’m going into a basic drawing class for 10th grade but plan to go into AP art classes like AP portfolio development and AP studio art in later years. There are 3 routes I could go to get into UF. 1, I could try to make it into UF as a freshman, but that is extremely difficult. 2, the easier path, I could get my basic academic degree at a local community college and transfer into UF for the degree I want. The community college gives you an automatic transfer to UF so it will be easier to get through emissions. 3, My dad works for UF, and a perk of that is parents can enter their children into a raffle that allows them to have a certain amount of years fully payed for. I still need to apply and there is still the chance you aren’t accepted, but I won’t need to pay massive amount and go broke. Overall, I think I have my plan figured out and I’m on a good track.

My Dream Job

I’ve had 1 idea in my mind for a job for years, and not until recently have I decided to change that. Originally I wanted to be a Marine Biologist. I was very inspired by the Dolphin Tales movie and when I learned the aquarium that held the great tale-less dolphin was only 2 hours away from home I became obsessed with the place. Every summer they have a camp there where you can learn something about marine biology, go snorkeling, and get exclusive tours of special parts of the aquarium. I looked forward to it every summer. I learned a lot too. But that dream faded away.

As I started middle school I found I’m very good at art. Now, I didn’t take any art classes throughout all of middle school but practically every moment I had free time I was drawing. Dolphins are still my favorite animal, but I’ve focused my attention on my art. Now, thanks to growing up with the best animated shows (GO Ninjago), going to Disney World (not land) almost every weekend because I used to have annual passes, and having an odd obsession for the original Scooby-Doo and Heman shows, I’m diving fully into animation. I finally started taking art classes over the summer of my 8th grade year and I’m taking art classes at my high school. I’ve made a couple animations but there can definitely be improvement. But I’m determined and know I will do great.

My BIGGEST Hobby

I love art. That is very apparent. But, my favorite past time that I play both alone and with friends is Dungeons and dragons(dnd). A lot of people consider it very dorky and dumb. Well I do mean to nerd you haters out because it’s actually a game for nerds and as a dungeon master(dm) I’m as nerdy as they come. I play alone by playing Baldur’s Gate III because it’s basically dnd as a video game, but I honestly prefer in person play with my friends so much more. I actually started playing dnd at a comic shop right before the big boom in dnd popularity. All I can say is my dm is absolutely amazing. He has given me probably the best beginning experience of dnd I could’ve ever had. I even got my dad into dnd. Then I also play with my school friends as their dm. All I have to say about them is they are utterly insane. My best bro is even playing an edgy version of Master Oogway from Kung-Fu Panda. That and in one campaign they spent 4 hours of real life time gambling for gold and platinum pieces that they can’t even physically obtain. I will say it is most certainly my fault they now have 48,000 gold and 9,600 platinum(and that’s only 1 player’s inventory) but we be stupid, and besides, it’s still fun.

I love to cosplay, especially because of the fact that me and the boys dress up for our dungeons and dragons sessions just because why not. So to try and prove I’m good at cosplaying and roleplaying characters, I started to make my own DIY fighter outfit. It was going to be amazing. I made arm and leg guards out of foam and an entire chest plate from cardboard. I originally wanted to do it out of foam but I didn’t have enough. I also made some dragon claws out of foam because not too long before I bought a dragon mask. Alas, the costume was so meticulous to put on that quickly into the campaign I just stopped wearing it. I do quite enjoy what I’ve created though and I hope to improve it later on
